Trade Missions
Trade missions are international trips (inbound and outbound), organized for the purpose of exploring international business opportunities, learning about a specific foreign market, and building agent-to-agent relationships. WSGVR conducts trade missions annually.
OUTBOUND TRADE MISSIONS
2024
Ling Chow, 2024 WSGVR President, led a team of delegates from the West San Gabriel Valley REALTORS® on an outbound trade mission to Taiwan and Malaysia. In Malaysia, the delegates participated in the International Real Estate Conference (IREC) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, between September 6, 2024 and September 8, 2024. In Taiwan, the delegates participated in the Chinese Association of Real Estate Brokers Annual Award Gala on September 19, 2024.
2023
Ling Chow, 2023 WSGVR President, led a team of delegates from the West San Gabriel Valley REALTORS® on an outbound trade mission to Taiwan. The trade mission delved into the core of Taiwan’s real estate landscape. The delegates engaged in productive discussions with esteemed real estate organizations in Taiwan, that included the Chinese Association of Real Estate Brokers, the Taipei Association of Real Estate Brokers, the New Taipei City Real Estate Agent Association, the Taoyuan Association of Real Estate Brokers, the Taichung City Association of Real Estate Brokers, and the Kaohsiung Association of Real Estate Brokers. Throughout the trade mission, several significant topics were discussed, such as U.S. real estate trends, property market updates, multiple listing services, and insights into the EB5 immigration program. These interactions fostered international collaboration and exchange of knowledge, benefiting both the American and Taiwanese real estate markets.
2019
Giuseppe Veneziano, 2019 WSGVR President, Ling Chow, Pauline Lam, and Frances Huang visited Taiwan in September 2019. During this trade mission, WSGVR signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Hualien Association of Real Estate Brokers.
2018
Helen Marston, 2018 WSGVR President, Ling Chow, Yin Bihr, Tom Berge, Jr., Pauline Lam, Norman Tran, Alex Ly, Luis Hong, Kathy Meng, Johans Lin, Joe Chan, and Blade Berge conducted an outbound trade missions to Vietnam, China, and Taiwan in September 2018.
2016
Ling Chow, 2010 WSGVR President, and Vanessa James, San Gabriel Valley Escrow Association President, conducted a trade mission to Taiwan in November 2016. They visited the Taiwanese real estate association between November 14, 2016 and November 16, 2016.
2015
Between July 21, 2015 and August 10, 2015, Tom Berge Jr., 2015 WSGVR President, led a team of delegates from the West San Gabriel Valley REALTORS® Global Business Council, conducted the outbound trade missions in 2015 to Taiwan, Malaysia, and Indonesia. During this trade missions, Council members visited the Chinese Association of Real Estate Brokers, the Taipei City Real Estate Agent Association, the New Taipei City Real Estate Agent Association, and the Taichung City Association of Real Estate Brokers in Taiwan. WSGVR also signed Memoranda of Understanding with New Taipei City Real Estate Agent Association and Taichung City Association of Real Estate Brokers in Taiwan. In Malaysia, the Council met with Malaysia Institute of Estate Agents leadership team and members. In Indonesia, the Council met with the leadership team and members of the Asosiasi Real Estate Broker Indonesia and the Aliansi Real Estate Agen Indonesia.
2010
The West San Gabriel Valley REALTORS® Global Business Council, as the appointed Ambassador Association to Taiwan, has sent a ten-member delegation in a ice-breaking visit to Taiwan from March 29, 2010 to April 4, 2010. The delegation was led by 2010 WSGVR President, Ling Chow, and Global Business Council members.
INBOUND TRADE MISSIONS
2024
Ling Chow, 2024 WSGVR President, led a team of delegates from the West San Gabriel Valley REALTORS® on hosting the reception to welcome the delegations from China, Malaysia, South Korea, and Thailand, on November 15, 2024. In addition, WSGVR signed an MOU with the National Association of REALTORS - India on November 16, 2024, at the NAR NXT Conference in Boston, MA.

Ling Chow, 2023 WSGVR President, along with the Global Business Council members, to sign an MOU with the Thai Real Estate Sales and Marketing Association at the NAR NXT Conference in Anaheim, CA, on November 15, 2023.

Brian Chen, 2022 WSGVR President, along with the Global Business Council members, to sign an MOU with the Cambodian Valuers and Estate Agents Association (CVEA) on August 2, 2022 virtually.
2021
Mindy Yeh, 2021 WSGVR President, along with the Global Business Council members, signed an MOU virtually with the Global Real Estate Association of Seoul (GRAS).
2020
Mindy Yeh, 2021 WSGVR President, along with the Global Business Council members, signed an MOU virtually with the Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA) on December 15, 2020.
2017
Suzi Dunkel-Soto, 2017 WSGVR President, Helen Marston, 2017 WSGVR President-elect, Yin Bihr, 2017 Global Business Council Chair, Tom Berge, Jr., 2017 Global Business Council Co-Chair, and the entire Leadership Team hosted an inbound trade missions from Philippines, Taiwan, and Malaysia in Chicago in November 2017.
On Saturday, November 4, 2017, the Leadership Team met with the Philippines Chamber of Real Estate and Builders Associations (CREBA). The 2017 WSGVAR President, Suzi Dunkel-Soto, on behalf of the WSGVAR, signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the CREBA. With MOU, both organizations agreed to promote the adoption of our respective codes of ethics, standards and norms, and the advancement and enforcement generally of standards of professionalism in the real estate industry. The complete MOU can be found at the Association Office. On November 9, 2017, the Philippines delegation visited the WSGVAR Office.
On Friday, November 17, 2017, the Taiwanese real estate association delegation (members of CAREB and NTCREAA) visited the WSGVR Office to exchange real estate information. Click here for the 2017 Inbound Trade Mission photos.
2015
On May 14, 2015, WSGVR Global Business Council hosted delegates from Taiwan during the REALTOR® Legislative Meetings and Trade Expo in Washington, DC.
2014
Between November 11, 2014 and November 15, 2014, WSGVR Global Business Council hosted delegates from Taiwan, Malaysia and Indonesia throughout the NAR Conference and Expo in New Orleans, Louisiana.
2013
WSGVR hosted inbound trade missions from Taiwan & Malaysia between November 7, 2013 and November 8, 2013, at the NAR Conference & Expo in San Francisco, CA and at our Association on November 12, 2013 to discuss global real estate topics & to visit luxurious houses in Pasadena and San Marino. Our Council Chair, Gigi Lee, along with two other members participated in the 2014 Real Estate Global Summit in Taipei in April. There, WSGVR signed the MOU with the Taipei Association of Real Estate Brokers (TAREB).
2012
On March 9, 2012, our Association hosted an inbound trade mission from Japan. The Japanese delegation visited our association to learn Multiple Listing Services, zipForm® and Real Estate laws.
